3D Generalist

--Khaleef--
Job Position: 3D Game Artist / Generalist (Environments, Assets & AI-Assisted Production)
Location: DHA Phase 8, Lahore

About the role

TapFire is looking for a versatile 3D Game Artist to create appealing, performant art for mobile and HTML5 games.
You will work across environments, props, characters, vehicles and visual polish, taking work from a brief through asset production, scene assembly and review in playable builds. You should care about how your work supports gameplay: what players notice, how they navigate, and whether the visual experience feels clear and consistent.
AI-assisted production is an explicit part of this role. We expect you to use AI thoughtfully to accelerate exploration, asset creation and repetitive work, while taking responsibility for the quality, usability and integration of the final result.

What you’ll do

  • Create and adapt game-ready environments, modular assets, props, characters, creatures, vehicles and equipment.
  • Model, unwrap, texture and prepare assets with suitable topology, scale, pivots, materials and export settings.
  • Build and polish scenes through composition, asset placement, lighting, colour and consistent visual style.
  • Produce skins, texture variations, upgrade stages, damaged states and other assets that communicate gameplay progression.
  • Create clear visual cues for interactions, unlocks, upgrades, rewards and important locations.
  • Prepare and integrate assets in the game engine, coordinating with developers on prefabs, materials, collisions and implementation issues.
  • Optimize geometry, textures, materials and scene complexity against agreed platform budgets.
  • Support straightforward gameplay VFX and material effects, collaborating with specialists where needed.
  • Review playable builds, identify visual and technical problems, and carry fixes through to verification.
  • Support prototypes, playable ads and existing game updates as project needs evolve.
  • Maintain organized source files, reusable assets and clear progress updates in ClickUp.
  • How you’ll use AI in production

You will be expected to apply a repeatable workflow:

  • Understand the brief. Identify the gameplay purpose, visual direction, camera view, required deliverables and technical constraints before generating options.
  • Explore and select. Use AI-assisted research, concept variations and material studies to investigate useful directions. Explain your selection and keep it consistent with the game’s art style.
  • Create and adapt. Where appropriate, use generated meshes, textures or asset variations as starting points. Choose between manual creation, existing assets and AI generation based on quality and total production effort.
  • Refine for production. Inspect and correct geometry, topology, UVs, texture seams, materials, scale and consistency. Rebuild unsuitable output when that produces a better result.
  • Integrate and validate. Test assets in the actual game camera and playable build. Check readability, lighting, collisions and performance, then resolve issues before delivery.
  • Improve and share. Record useful settings, prompts and cleanup steps so successful workflows can be repeated. Share methods that help the team deliver better work.
  • You may also use AI for technical troubleshooting, documentation and small production scripts, provided you understand and verify the results. Use approved tools and follow studio requirements for confidential material, asset sourcing and commercial usage rights.

What we’re looking for

  • A portfolio demonstrating strong 3D fundamentals and work suited to real-time games.
  • Proficiency in a 3D package such as Blender, Maya or 3ds Max, alongside suitable texturing tools.
  • Practical experience preparing and integrating art in Unity or a comparable real-time engine.
  • Strong understanding of modelling, UVs, texturing, materials, composition, lighting and colour.
  • Ability to create cohesive stylized art and adapt existing assets to an established direction.
  • Understanding of mobile or browser performance constraints and common asset optimization methods.
  • Practical familiarity with AI-assisted creative workflows, plus the judgment to recognize and correct weak output.
  • Ability to interpret feedback, estimate work, communicate blockers and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Curiosity about gameplay and willingness to take increasing responsibility for the complete visual result.
Useful additional skills

  • Modular environment construction and procedural workflows.
  • Basic rigging, animation cleanup, shaders or gameplay VFX.
  • Scripting or automation for repetitive art tasks.
  • Experience with casual, idle, simulation or hybrid-casual games.
  • Experience preparing art for prototypes and playable ads.

How to apply

Share your CV and portfolio, clearly identifying your contribution to each project. Include in-engine examples where possible, along with wireframes, texture breakdowns or optimization examples.
Please include one brief workflow example explaining the task, how you used AI, what you corrected manually, and how you verified the final result.
